Genbaku Shoujo - Little Girl Of Hiroshima
The piece is a minute long animated account which revisits the few moment before, during and after the bomb struck Hiroshima. At 8.15, the time of the blast, Kiyoko had just arrived in school. Her school was only one kilometer from ground zero. The bomb had a devastating effect, instantly destroying anything in its path. The piece attempts to visualise both Kiyoko's perspective from inside the school as well as the devastating effect on the outside. It is broken up by short statements from Kiyoko's account of the blast which are then visually represented through animation. Time is manipulated to emphasise both the destructive nature of the blast as well as Kiyoko's vivid memory of the moment which has haunted her for over 60 years. 3D work in Cinema 4D. Colour correction/ compositing Adobe After Effects. Sound Ableton Live. Part of PG_02 Project - MA Moving Image Ravensbourne, London

Constriction (WIP)
Current low res draft of my MA film. This project was made in response to the economic and socio-political problems in Ireland that lead to the fall of the economy. The main culprits responsible for the fall of the economy are represented as snakes. Traditionally snakes are well known in Irish folklore through the story of St Patrick and how he managed to banish them from the country. In my film the story of St Patrick is turned on its head as the Irish snake runs rampant. In the relentless hunt for territory the snakes rapidly spread across the city before tightening their grip. Only when the cage of debt closes and external powers come to monitor the situation do the snakes become startled. Sensing danger they flee into the mist, leaving behind thousands of trapped birds which frantically try to find a way out of the cage. The film references among others, Ireland's construction frenzy, the entrapment of debt, the occupation of Ireland by the IMF to monitor finances, rapid modernization and social inequality.

Sky Arts Ident_Sunflower Seeds
My entry for the Sky Arts ident competition. brief here: projects.skycreative.tv/skyartsstings/brief.php# Sky Arts Ident Taking into account the content shown on Sky Arts I have decided to bring to life a contemporary piece of art through animation. A series of these animated interpretations could be used as a consistent theme to connect the viewer with the Sky Arts brand. I would plan to use well known artworks so the viewer might have a familiarity and emotional bond to them. This could also add an interactive element as the viewer might feel compelled to find out what the animated work was if they didn’t instantly recognise it. I have chosen Ai Weiwei’s “Sunflower Seeds” as the first of the series but the idea could relate to a broad range of contemporary artworks.

DL_043__Promotional Broadsheet
As part of our final year program we were asked to design a broadsheet to promote the design course at IADT. The design decisions made within this project are reflected upon my attitude towards design and what i believe is important in good design. I have tried to combine words and imagery in such a way that the results are stimulating and eye-catching, but most importantly communicate a relevant message about the course and design itself. I have used a strong grid system throughout the project for both consistency and creativity. It informs both the type and image layouts as well as playing a vital part in the creation of the poster when it takes on a more abstract form.
